3398 A -- FORECAST TO INDUSTRY POC Thomas McCabe, (703) 325-6961. The
Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) (formerly the Defense Nuclear
Agency) will hold its third annual Forecast to Industry highlighting
projected FY97 contracting opportunities supporting agency-wide
programs. This year's Forecast will continue to stress the theme of
post-cold war national security priorities, consistent with DSWA's
recently revised name and organization. Agency Director, Major General
Gary L. Curtin, USAF, will discuss the Agency's strategy for the
sustainment and consolidation of core nuclear capabilities, while
adjusting to meet the new emerging challenges related to DSWA's
missions. The morning session will include a brief overview and update
of DSWA's business practices. Both morning and afternoon sessions will
provide detailed information regarding DSWA's investment strategy and
technology needs, along with information on specific projects,
milestones, projected contract periods, and planned RFP release and
contract award dates. Topics of interest will span the following areas
of the agency's mission; warfighter support, maintenance of nuclear
expertise, nuclear weapons stockpile support, defeat of hardened
targets/tunnels, counterproliferation advanced concept technology and
exercise support, and arms control technology. The agency-wide forecast
will be held on 30 Oct 96 at the Marriott Crystal Forum (affiliated
with the Crystal City Marriott), 1999 Jefferson Davis Highway,
Arlington, VA, from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Conference check-in will be
from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. Lunch will not be provided, but numerous
eating establishments are within walking distance. (The Agency's
mission of managing the Cooperative Threat Reduction/Defense Conversion
Program assisting the former Soviet Union will not be a subject of this
Forecast to Industry.) Persons wishing to attend the agency-wide
