The National Naval Medical Center has a requirement for the Laboratory Medicine Department, Blood Bank Division at Bethesda, MD. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced purchase order to Sorvall Instruments, Newton, CT for the purchase of three low speed refrigerated centrifuge systems, Model #RC3BP. Sorvall centrifuges are the only ones capable of utilizing the H-6000 rotors currently in use in the lb. Sorvall is the only manufacturer that produces a centrifuge with an ISO 9001 compliant computer interface. Anticipated award date is 27 September 1996. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by this agency. This action is unrestricted. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). (256)
