This public notice is to request suppliers to provide NTT with general referential information on similar products or technology prior to procurement of the intended product (mentioned below) by NTT. This public notice is also to request that any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the procurement program of this product should declare their intentions to that effect. This public notice is not intended to guarantee public notification of procurement of the product. (1) Name: DSU (Digital Service Unit) for leased high-speed digital transmission service. (2) Overview: This product is DSU for leased high-speed digital transmission service prescribed in the Technical Reference Materials for High-Speed Digital Transmission Service (fourth edition). The DSU to solicit information includes the following three models. 1) Metallic subscriber line transmission type DSU supporting a transmission rate at the terminal end of 64-kb/s (64 and 128-kb/s with the I-interface) 2) Fiber-optic subscriber line transmission type DSU supporting a transmission rate at the terminal end of from 192 kb/s to 1.5 Mb/s. 3) Fiber-optic subscriber line transmission type DSU supporting a transmission rate at the terminal end of from 3 Mb/s to 6 Mb/s. These DSUs shall support the following mandatory requirements. 1) Provisioning of the LI point interface stipulated in the Technical Reference Materials for High-Speed Digital Transmission Service (fourth edition) as the transmission line interface. 2) Provisioning of the Y interface as the terminal end interface (UNI) and, if the I interface is provided in addition to the Y interface, ability to toggle between interfaces through operation of a switch. 3) Ability to transfer and display alarms as indicated in the Alarm Transfer Diagram in the Technical Reference Materials for High-Speed Digital Transmission Service (fourth edition) (3) Contents of RFI: NTT is inviting the following types of information on a product or technology similar to the above-mentioned system. This is not, however, a request for suppliers to provide proprietary and/or confidential information, (i) Technical information - Product technical information pertaining to descriptions in the Overview of Product'' section above (product catalog(s), system configuration examples, etc.) (ii) Price and its terms and conditions - Based on concept of unit pricing and volume discount pricing (iii) Standard delivery period after an order is placed (iv) Sales results - Yearly Sales performance, market share, etc. for the previous three years (v) Others - 1) Product features, failure response system, maintenance support system, etc. 2) Positive suggestions you believe will contribute to NTTs business. (4) Request for Declaration of the Intention of Participating as a Subcontractor: Any Suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the product procurement program of NTT, are requested to supply NTT with the information listed below. After preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will provide the list to suppliers who wish to be provided with it, to those who have responded to the request for supply of the information listed and to those who have purchased the Procurement Documentation relating to procurement of the product.
