The National Inst.of Health, National Cancer Information Center intends to obtain services from Cancerhelp Inst., 1159 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette, Ill., 60091. The ICIC requires five additional site, five year license to operate the CancerHelp software package in order to evaluate the utility of the patient information statements in PDQ in different community-based clinical settings. Results will be used to determine how best to make PDQ data available to the general public. The ICIC is evaluating the utility of PDQ information to cancer patients and their families in a variety of community based settings. The CancerHelp software will be utilized in these evaluations because the CancerHelp Institute is a licensed distributor of PDQ files and has integrated them into its user-friendly touch screen interface with voice messsages and video clips. The use of this software will eliminate the need for ICIC staff to develop such an interface to evaluate PDQ data in clinical setting where health professionals will offer patients access to the PDQ data via the CancerHelp software. The CancerHelp licenses will allow the ICIC to use an existing software system to rapidly implement an important programmatic evaluation in five sites in cooperation with clinical care providers who wish to provide cancer treatment information to their patients. This is not a request for competitive proposals, as no solicitation will be issued. However, vendors who believe they can meet the Government's requirement may submit their qualifications. The submission must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail so that a determination can be made regarding meeting the Governments requirement.
