SECOND CONFERENCE ON NONDESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION (NDE) APPLIED TO PROCESS CONTROL OF COMPOSITE FABRICATION This conference, a follow-up to the successful first conference held two years ago, will be held 1-2 October 1996 at the Renaissance St. Louis Hotel-Airport, in St. Louis, MO. It is being organized by the DoD Nondestructive Testing Information Analysis Center (NTIAC) in collaboration with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace. NTIAC is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) and operated by Texas Research Institute Austin, to provide scientific and technical information analysis services to the DoD, other Government agencies, Government contractors, and industry in general. Conference co-sponsors include: Navy Center of Excellence for Composites Manufacturing Technology, Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock Division, Air Force Wright Laboratory - Materials Directorate, Army Research Office, University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials, Johns Hopkins University Center for NDE, Manufacturing Technology Information Analysis Center (MTIAC), and SAIC. The objective of the conference is to provide a forum for technical presentations and exchange of ideas on technology developments that may lead to potential and/or significant advances in process control of composite fabrication. Primary topics to be covered include composite design, fabrication and analysis; in-line process control for composite manufacturing NDE sensors for composite monitoring and inspection; composite manufacturing process automation; and on-line NDE applications. Twenty-three papers are scheduled to be presented and a proceedings will be published by NTIAC following the conference. The registration fee of $170 ($150 before 13 September 1996) includes attendance at sessions; breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks on both days; an evening reception; and the conference proceedings.
