93 -- SOURCES SOUGHT FOR PREQUALIFICATION OF HDPE AND GEOTEXTILE MATERIALS TO BE USED IN CELL CONSTRUCTION SOL RFP-3589-Synthetic Materials. MK-Ferguson Company, is currently performing work under a Department of Energy Prime Contract at the Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project located in St. Charles, Missouri. Sources are being sought for the supply of synthetic material samples. MK-Ferguson is requesting information from prospective manufacturers who are interested in having their synthetic materials prequalified for use in the construction of a disposal cell. Design requirements include utilization of HDPE liners, geosynthetic clay lined HDPEs, geonets, and geotextiles. The materials have to be chemically compatible with the site specific leachate and tested in accordance with EPA Method 9090 and 9100. Interested manufacturers should submit, 2' long by full manufacturer roll width (minimum roll width 20') for HDPE geomembrane; 5 samples, 4'' x 12'' each for geonet; and 5 samples, 4'' x 12'' each for sodium-bentonite geotextiles, in order for MK-Ferguson to conduct appropriate compatibility testing. Quantity of liner materials which will be needed is as follows: (1) 80 mil textured white HDPE geomembrane (1,200,000 sf). (2) geosynthetic clay liner consisting of sodium-bentonite encapsulated between non-woven geotextiles (1,200,000 sf) (3) 250-mil HDPE geonet (1,400,000), and (4) 80 mil textured HDPE geomembrane (1,200,000 sf). Manufacturers interested in providing material samples should send them to the address noted below. Only materials which have been submitted for test and approved will be allowed to be used in the construction of the disposal cell.
