Z -- UPGRADE ELEVATORS BROOKLYN SOL RFP 527-28-96 DUE 081596 POC Laralee Horowitz Provide all necessary labor and materials to upgrade Elevators P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 and S8 as required per the specifications. Work includes replacing all elevator components with new as specified for Elevators P-1 to P-5 and S8 at the VA Medical Center, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, N.Y. the new components include but not limited to microprocessor control system, silicone controlled rectifying power units, door operators, hoistway doors, car doors, car leveling devices, cab for elevator S8. Contractor shall retain overhead gearless traction machines, deflector sheaves, machine beams, main counterweight coils, buffers, counterweights, governor ropes, governors, fascia plates, toe guards and car safety devices. All work shall be in full compliance with the ANSI Code and specifications. Contractor is to provide all labor, materials and supervision required to perform preventive maintenance for all elevators listed as required by the specifications. Maintenance is to be provided for a period of one (1) year with four option years for renewal. Construction cost estimate is between $500,000 to $1000,000. Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1796, Installation or Erection of Building Equipment, N.E.C. Completion time is 400 calendar days. This procurement is not a small business set-aside.
