A CONFERENCE TO BRING MILLIONS IN CONTRACTS TO SMALL, MINORITY, AND WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES. On June 13, 1996, the Department of the Treasury is sponsoring its third annual regional procurement conference, PARTNERSHIPS '96 Chicago, which will be held at the Rosemont Convention Center, 9301 West Bryn Mawr, in Rosemont, Illinois. The purpose of this event is to expand procurement opportunities for Small, Minority, and Women-Owned Businesses. Treasury bureaus will offer Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Card Requirements (PCRs) for existing requirements. Procurement opportunities, estimated between $1 - $3 million will be available. A listing of Treasury requirements will be posted on the Treasury Small Business Fax Line (202-622-1133) on/about June 5, 1996. The Department's prime contractors, such as Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Unisys, Lucent Technologies, and Motorola, as well as other large businesses, and federal, state, and local government entities have been invited to bring a multitude of additional business opportunities, as well as discuss prime and subcontracting procurement opportunities on Treasury and/or other contracts. The conference will feature seminars on such topics as: (1) how to do business with the Government, (2) how to do business with Treasury prime contractors (subcontracting and teaming efforts), (3) professional support service requirements, and (4) Treasury streamlining initiatives. Information on (1) accessing Treasury's Home Page via the World Wide Web, (2) registering with Treasury bureaus electronically, (3) the Purchase Card (VISA) program, (4) EC/EDI, and (5) the Treasury's Vendor Express Program, will also be available.
