ARCHAEOLOGICAL SERVICES AT CIVIL WORKS AND MILITARY SITES WITHIN

The proposed services will be obtained by a Firm Fixed Price Contract.
The maximum amount of the contract shall not exceed $500,000, and no
individual delivery order shall exceed $100,000. There will be no
guaranteed minimum contract amount. The contract period is one year
from date of award, with two options to extend one additional year
each. The Louisville District plans to procure an indefinite delivery
contract for archaeology services. Services will consist of, but not be
limited to, Phase I site reconnaissance surveys, Phase II test
excavations, architectural evaluation of structures for National
Register of Historic Places eligibility, development of cultural
resources mitigation and historic preservation plans, and other
cultural resources studies at civil works and militaty sites within the
states of Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan. Responding
firms should have experienced personnel capable of performing cultural
resources work in areas of both prehistoric and historic
archaeological, including the followng taks: 1) historical, archival
and literature research; 2) Phase I archeaological reconnaissance; 3)
Phase II test excavations of both prehistoric and archaeological sites;
4) identification, cataloging and curation of prehistoric and historic
artifacts; 5) location and mapping of archaeological sites using
Global Positioning System (GPS) techniques and associated equipment and
software; 6) architectural evaluation of structures for National
Register of Historic Places eligibility; 7) recordation of structures
in accordance with the National Park Service, Historic American
Building Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER),
and Department of the Interior Standards; 8) development of cultural
resources mitigation and historical preservation plans. Expertise is
also required for compliance with the National Preservation Act of 1966
and Regulation 36 CFR 800 of the Advisory Council on Historic
Preservation, as well as expertise in the use of Global Positioning
System (GPS) techniques and associated equipment and software.
Individuals who fully meet the criteria established by the Secretary of
the Interior as detailed in Standards and Guidelinesfor Archaeology and
Historic Preservation (Federal Register/Vol. 48, No. 190, Thursday,
September 1983) are required in the following disciplines: Professional
archaeologist(s) serving as Principal INvestigator, who must hold at
least an M.A. degree in Anthropology/Archaeology; architectural
historian, who must hold an M.A. degree in architectural history, art
history, historic preservation, or a closely related field. A B.A.
degree in the appropriate field and two years experience may be
substituted for the M.A. degree for the architectural historian and
historian disciplines only. The above disciplines must be indicated by
reumes in the proposal. Additional disciplines include:
field/laboratory supervisor (resume required), archaeological
technician, archaeological worker (laborer), drafter, secretary, and
heavy equipment operator. Proposals will be awarded on a consensus
point score based on the Offeror's submission in the following areas,
in the order of importance: Professional Qualifications, Past
