It is intended to award this contract to Lakeshore Cyrotronics, Westerville, OH on a sole source basis. The Lakeshore model MTD-120 and MTD-121 are specifically designed for testing of infrared detectors at or near liguid nitrogen temperature. The dewars are designed with a 68-pin leadless chip carrier socket which is the size that is required for our detectors. The internal wiring is shielded and the devices are accessed using individual coaxial cable connectors on an external breakout box to eliminate noise. The dewar is required in both down-looking and side-looking configuration. Lakeshore Cryotronics is the industry leader in infrared detector characterization dewars. No other company can provide a pour-fill dewar pre-wired for a 68-pin chip carrier with the necessary accessories required by the Government.
