Engineering support services associated with application, improvement, and enhancement of the Loral-supplied Wind Profiler System (WPS). Tasks will include modification, both major and minor, of the WPS and its related sub-assemblies, software, modules, and test equipment; performance of special tests and evaluations as related to WPS utilization, improvement, and enhancement; maintenance and repair of the WPS and components at the contractor facility, WPS field locations, the National Reconditioning Center in Kansas City, MO, and other locations as required. NDBC intends to negotiate only with Loral Defense System-East, Great Neck, NY, as the WPS was designed by Loran under a competitive contract, and all components built by subcontractors were from Loral specifications. Loral has personnel available in all required disciplines, as well as test equipment and facilities required.
