DARPA/CMO, fax (703) 696-2208. The Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA) intends to enter into an Agreement with a Consortium
comprised of the California Department of Conservation, the Jet
Propulsion Laboratory, and Calgis Incorporated of Fresno, California,
for Phase II of the Geographic Synthetic Aperture Radar Program (GeoSAR
II). GeoSAR II is a Congressionally - Mandated Program to develop and
test a Dual-Band (P-Band and X-Band), Airborne, Radar-Based Foliage
Penetration, Interferometric Sensor System that will allow terrain
elevation and feature mapping in the open and beneath the tree canopy.
The Consortium has acquired unique expertize to complete development
and demostrate the feasibility of a technology to provide accurate
geographic information system products for military and commerical
mapping, and land-use applications. This announcement is for
