Uba, Contracting Officer 208- 378-5110 Reclamation has 3 each 700 KVA generators in the 3rd Powerplant, manufactured and installed by General Electric (GE), in the early to mid 1970's, at Grand Coulee Dam, Washington. The lower shrouds on G-22, G-23, and G-24 are failing and need to be replaced NLT September 30, 1996 because the generators will be out of service for stator repair beginning in August, 1996 and need to be back on line by October, 1996. The fiberglass shrouds shall be compatible to Canadian GE: 1 one-sided shroud cover, Approx 4' L, GE DWG 767D225BA P08, and 1 loose joint, DWG 783D981RW P01, and 40 self tap screws #10 X .062'' L, and assembled to shroud cover IS 1 end tip seal. DWG 215A9944HJ P02-3PP G22-245 generator stator, for one sided lower shroud, one set consists of 45 each cover shrouds. Requirement is for two complete sets. Reclamation intends to solicit and negotiate with only GE Canada under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 30 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by Reclamation. A determination by Reclamation not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of Reclamation. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responders of this notice shall provide the following information: (A) Commercial descriptive literature describing the proposed shroud; (B) Describe how the proposed shroud will be modified to withstand the air flows around the generators; (C) A list of customers (and point(s) of contact) where shroud covers have been provided for generators; and (D) a short explanation on how the proposed shroud will meet the other requirements described above that are not covered by the commercial literature.
