The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement to procure the following PHALANX Ammunition Handling System requirements: Eight (8) Ammunition Handling Systems (AHS), five (5) Gun Control Units, eight (8) Ammunition Loaders, eight (8) Recoil Adapters, four (4) Interlock and Burst CCA Kits, four (4) Filter Plate Assembly Kits, five (5) Gun Conversion Kits, twenty-seven (27) AHS Modification Kits (Block 1 Baseline 2/2A to Block 1 Baseline 2D), sixteen (16) AHS Modification Kits (Block 1 Baseline 1A/1B/1C to Block 1 Baseline 2D), and ten (10) AHS Modification Kits (Block 1 Baseline 0 to Block 1 Baseline 2D). This requirement will be procured from Lockheed Martin Armament Systems as a follow on to Contract N00024-93-C-5402 pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Lockheed Martin Armament Systems, Lakeside Avenue, Burlington, VT is the sole producer of this equipment and the only firm at the current time with the required design and production knowledge to fulfill this requirement.
