Z -- REPAIR AND INSPECT EIGHT AND NINE INCH FUEL LINES AT DFSP, GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA SOL N47408-95-B-4053 DUE 031596 POC Contract Specialist, KIM KAISER, 202-433-5315, FAX 202-433-5244, CORRINE PEARSON, CONTRACTING OFFICER, 202-433-5313 The work includes inspections and repairs to two steel fuel pipelines; an eight inch diameter pipeline and a nine inch diameter pipeline. The eight inch pipeline is used to transfer JP-8 jet fuel from the Williams Pipeline Terminal to storage at DFSP Grand Forks, a distance of approximately 0.9 miles. The nine inch pipeline, which includes a 7000 foot section of ten inch pipeline, then transfers fuel from DFSP Grand Forks to Grand Forks Air Force Base. The eight inch diameter pipeline will be internally inspected by a pull-through metal loss detection tool after modifications are made to existing endpoints and after suspected short radius bends and other obstructions to the tool are removed. Pipeline pig launch and retrieval stations will be modified on the nine inch pipeline as well as modifications of low point drains and replacement of reducers. Other work includes rerouting the nine inch pipeline along the English Coulee Diversion Channel crossing and other minor incidental related work. The contract will be firm fixed-priced with award anticipated in March 1996. The estimated cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Bid opening will be on/or about 15 March 1996 at 1400 Eastern Standard Time at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Contracts Office (Conference Room), 901 M Street, SE, Washington Navy Yard, Bldg 218 (Third Floor), Washington, D.C. Due to the critical nature of the project, the apparent low bidder shall be requested, within 7 calendar days of bid opening, to provide qualification/experience information on successfully completed projects for similar work, in addition to other information to determine the firm's responsibility.(0030)
