Fulmer/PKWOCB/513-257-5858 FAX No (513) 257-3926. The instrument will be a Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM) for research and development of hard wear resistant coatings and solid lubricants. The scanning microprobes shall include an atomic force contacting capability, an atomic force non-contacting capability (for soft or delicate samples), and a lateral force capability. A fluid cell shall be included so that samples can be analyzed in fluids. The system will include high resolution light optics with CCD camera and monitor for pre-positioning samples. Tip exchange must be simple and the system must support multiple printer drivers. The software must provide for multitasking; the images shall be digitalized for storage and image processing and analysis so they must be output in a commonly used format (TIFF) and database or spreadsheet format.
