The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) This project consists of removing lead based paint, surface preparation and painting of the main outdoor electrical power equipment for Gavins Point hydroelectric power plant. The equipment to be painted includes; three main unit transformers, station switchgear, two electrical panels and miscellaneous covers, supports and brackets. Total estimated surface area to be painted is approximately 8,500 square feet. Contractor shall have experience in the removal and handling of lead based paint and in painting electrical equipment. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work during the two scheduled outages of 04 March 1996 through 15 March 1996 and 17 February 1997 through 14 March 1997. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed for the outages and for total completion of the contract by 15 April 1997. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a October 16, 1995. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the responsibility of the requestor).
