Herting, 202/326-4160 The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, a follow-on contract to PBGC-J-5- 0278 with Columbia Technologies, Inc. Subject contract will be a labor-hour type, encompassing a base period of performance and two one-year options. Under subject contract, PBGC will acquire specialized technical project management services to assist in the development and implementation of the integrated financial systems, Trust Accounting and Revolving Accounting Systems. Prior knowledge of PBGC's financial applications and their operations is required to fully support the development and implementation of the required interfaces into the redesigned Premium Accounting System (PAS) and the redesigned Case Administration System currently under development. The proposed contractor has capabilities and knowledge gained from experiences with the existing Premium Processing system modifications, its phases, and schedules and with the redesigned PAS, and with the Standard General Leger. It is PBGC's belief that in view of the provider's familiarity with PBGC's financial applications, including the PAS redesign and the Standard General Ledger requirements and their operations, the provider is uniquely qualified to perform the duties of the contract without an undue amount of assistance from the PBGC.
