CRITERIA FOR EVALUATING OFFERING FIRMS: 1) Ability of diesel engines and waterjets to fit into the existing designed twin-engine spaces with no modifications to engines, waterjets, or engine room spaces. Proper fit will facilitate routine maintenance of engines and waterjets. 2) The horsepower of the diesel engines, with due consideration to power to weight ratio of the diesel engines, while complying with essential characteristics of diesel engines as described in the scope. 3) The low speed maneuverability and zero thrust station keeping ability of the waterjets in a twin-jet application, while complying with essential characteristics of waterjets as described in scope. 4) Documented successful applications of the diesel engine and waterjet combination in twin engine commercial workboats in the United States. 5) The availability of spare parts for the waterjets and a comprehensive service contract for the diesel engines in the San Francisco Bay Area. 6) Delivery time for diesel engines and waterjets, based on award date. Delivery is to be 45 days after award. Solicitation is not available until 15 days after published in the CBD. All potential sources must submit descriptive literature and any other information necessary to meet the evaluation requirements. Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award.
