Finn (703)784-2976 PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. This project listed herein is being considered for 100% Set Aside for Small Disadvantaged Business Firms. Interested SDB Concerns should notify this office, in writing, of their intention to bid the project as prime contractor as early as possible. The notification must contain a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern; evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this nature and magnitude. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as an unrestricted procurement without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all firms, including large businesses. Interested parties will be put on the planholdeers list and issued an IFB when available. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC), for this project is 1761 - Roofing and Sheet Metal Work. The size standard is $7.0 Million. The work includes the demolition of the existing built-up roofs and the installation of new EDPM roofs on the 2700 Block Split Levels Housing Units and incidental related work on 15 Buildings. The work shall be divided into a base bid and one add-alternate. The base bid is Buildings 2779, 2778, 2777, 2776, 2775, 2774, 2773, and 2772. The add-alternate is Buildings 2771, 2770, 2769, 2768, 2767, 2766 and 2765. The projected date of availability of the solicitation is 01 August 1995. The projected bid opening date is 31 August 1995. Requests for plans and specifications may be mailed to the above address, Attn: Code 20 or requests may be sent via facsimile using fax #(703) 784-2124. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick up a copy of the plans and specs at the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction, Building 2004, Room 253, Quantico, Virginia. The hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no charge for these documents, however, there will be only one set issued per contractor. Requests for plans and specifications and and bidder's list should be made separately to avoid confusion. This also applies to requests for numerous solicitations. Please note that the Plans and Specifications will be issued on ''first come, first serve'' basis. The estimated cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. (0193)
