The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division Naval Surface Warfare Center, intends to acquire from VMW Industries on a sole source basis a firm-fixed price contract to provide fabrication and testing of two (2) double lock, skid mounted, steel recompression chambers to be utilized in the Mobile Explosive Ordnance Detail (EOD) Support Facility which is a diving life support system. Additionally, an option quantity of up to three (3) additional chambers may be ordered. VMW Industries is uniquely qualified for this effort having designed and built the recompression chambers for (environmental shock, and vibration testing) under Contract N68860-91-C-0114 for the COASTSYSTA. The design of the required chambers is proprietary to VMW Industries. Use of any other chamber design would necessitate extensive, time-consuming, and costly recertification for the shock, vibration, and thermal test requirements. Note 22 applies. (0193)
