F -- STUDIES OF FISH CONDITIONS SOL DACW57-95-R-0041 DUE 071095 POC Contract Specialist, GAIL SCHULTZ, (503)326-4078 The contractor is required to provide all labor, material, equipment, and transportation to perform studies of fish conditions as they pass different passage routes at Lower Columbia Dams, The Dalles and Cascade Locks, Oregon. The contractor shall provide a measure immediate (within 1 hour) and long-term (48 hours) survival of hatchery juvenile chinook salmon and/or steelhead trout passing through one spillbay and one modified spillbay at both The Dalles and Bonneville Dams in September/October of 1995. This study is to provide information on fish conditions as they pass spillways, and modified spillways (prototype vertical slots) to assist in the Corps of Engineers Surface Collection Program. For purposes of this study, survival should be estimated to within 5% at the 90% confidence level. Fish condition will be measured as external injury and stress levels (blood corisal levels). The testing should include a range of test conditions and will be detailed in the solicitation. Test and control fish will be provided by the contractor from a local source and will be representative of the size/species of anadromous salmonid smolts in the Columbia River. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on or about June 8, 1995 at no charge. The approximate due date for proposals will be July 10, 1995. This acquisition is open to both large and small businesses, the size standard for which is a concern, including gross receipts for the last three fiscal years for the concern, including its affiliates, shall not exceed $3.0 million.
