Z -- BEACH NOURISHMENT, SHORE PROTECTION PROJECT, HUTCHINSON ISLAND, MARTIN COUNTY, FLORIDA SOL DACW17-95-B-0013 DUE 091495 POC Contract Specialist, Kathie Duke, (904) 232-3713 This beach nourishment project is located on Hutchinson Island in Martin County. The Project beach fill area extends from the St. Lucie/Martin County line south for 3.75 miles to DEP monument R-23. The project includes the replenishment of the shoreline with approximately 1.2 million cubic yards of sand from an offshore borrow area. The borrow area is located about 3,000 feet offshore of south Hutchinson Island and approximately 3 miles northeast of St. Lucie Inlet. The berm width is approximately 90 feet wide at elevation 9.1 feet mean low water (MLW). The construction foreshore slope is 1 vertical on 10 horizontal. Included in this project, where necessary, is the construction of a 20-foot wide dune at elevation 13.6 feet MLW with vegetation. As an optional bid item, 0.25 miles of additional beach may be added to the south of this project. The fill required for this option will be approximately 112,000 cubic yards. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 16 May 95. Invitation DACW17-95-B-0013 will be issued on or about 01 Aug 95 and opened on or about 14 Sept 95. Cost of Plans and Specifications is $40.00.
