The principle features of work include, but are not limited to: (1) Converting janitor closet in 1st floor to public latrine, (2) Draft curtain in attic, (3) Provide new phone system, (4) Provide fire extinguishers and installation with cabinets, (5) Furr down at dorm room head walls, (6) Provide exterior lighting, (7) Partial demolition of existing building/grounds area, (8) Provide general construction, (9) Provide electrical system and mechanical system, (10) Provide new package chiller and boiler units, provide new fan coil units with all piping included, (11) Replace fire alarm system, (12) Replace cable TV cable and outlets, (13) Clean the site of construction debris, (14) Refurbish the wall, floor, and some ceiling interior finishes in the dorm rooms/common areas/offices/toilet areas of existing building, (15) Provide sprinkler system. This is a firm fixed price contract. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The performance period will be 360 days. This action is being considered for 100% set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify our office, in writing, of their intention to bid on the project as a prime contractor as early as possible, but no later than 11 Jun 95. This notification must include a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds, and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this complexity and magnitude. Complete information concerning management experience in similar work and financial status should be submitted with references. Only mail or facsimile requests for bid packages will be accepted.
