The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), Veterinary Resources Program (VRP) has a requirement for a contractor to establish and maintain a comprehensive program to provide husbandry and animal care for research rodents and rabbits, provide a centralized animal facility/laboratory animal services to researchers, provide animal receiving support services and provide cagewash support. Specifically, the contractor shall be responsible for routine animal care, housing, nutrition, hygiene, written and computerized record keeping; sanitation and cleaning of equipment; animal handling, restraint, technical laboratory animal procedures and animal health surveillance; logistics and procurement and maintenance of equipment. The period of performance shall be for one basic twelve (12) month period with options to renew for four (4) successive twelve (12) month periods.
