Wandick (816) 426-6823 Ext. 237 The following description has been modified to correct some administrative errors in the text portion of the announcement. The Government has a requirement for routine maintenance and inspection of the Upper Mooring Buoy System at the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The Upper Mooring Buoy System consists of one hundred eighty three buoys. They are located at popular diving and fishing spots in the upper Florida Keys between the seaward extension of Broad Creek and Alligator Reef (a distance of approximately 37 miles). NOAA may add an average of twelve (12) mooring bouys per year not to exceed a total of thirty six (36) over the life of this contract. The Government will provide the material necessary to maintain the buoys and will be responsible for the installation of new anchor pins or augers as the additional buoys are added to the system. The contractor will be responsible for assembling the buoy components, fastening the assembled buoy to the anchor pin/auger, and maintaining and inspecting newly added buoys as required. This requirement includes an option to provide for the inspection and maintenance service on buoys in an area outside, but adjacent to the Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. This option will be identified in the solicitation as separately priced line items. The period of performance is for an initial 12 months beginning approximately 11/01/95 with option provisions for two (2) additional twelve month periods. Solicitation Number 52WCNC506051MW will be issued on or about 5/17/95. This is a 100% Small Business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
