70 -- BATCH SUPPORT FACILITY SOFTWARE SITE LICENSES POC A. R. Tokosch tel: (410) 965-9492 The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to acquire from BGS Systems, Incorporated of Waltham, MA additional site licenses for Best/1 Datacenter, Best/1 Autocapture, Best/1 Visualizer, and Batch Support Facility Software, along with attendant technical support and upgrades. SSA has been limited in its ability to provide systems models, planning and performance information to management and end users. The SSA environment has outgrown its existing modeling software long ago. Recently, BGS Systems released Best/1 Datacenter, Best/1 AutoCapture, Best/1 Visualizer, and the Batch Support Facility. The current versions of these software packages are not capable of providing a true model of our systems environment. Best/1 MVS is not capable of modeling environments with multiple MVS images such as SSA's. The new versions of this software will allow us to model our data center in all of its complexity and take full advantage of analytical modeling to manage our multiple MVS image environments. These products will also enhance our current capacity planning and performance analysis efforts. A sources-sought-synopsis was published on March 9, 1995, and BGS Systems, Incorporated was the only respondant. Therefore, this is a notice of intent to contract solely with BGS Systems, Incorporated, and any requests for a solicitation for this requirement will not be hon ored or acknowledged. No response or information is requested as a result of this announcement. Note 22. (0123)
