Mitchell at (612) 290-5763 The project site is located in the 5,620 acre Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge adjacent to Pool 6 on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River near Trempealeau, Wisconsin. The project involve the construction of dikes at three separate locations on the Refuge, totaling about 17,000 linear feet. About 130,000 cubic yards of pervious fill would be dredged from the Mississippi River to construct one of the dikes and about 120,000 cubic yards of pervious fill would be hauled from an upland source to construct the other two dikes. The project includes the construction of two gated 3' x 6' box culvert outlet structures with portable pumps, a 30-inch gated culvert inlet structure, and a 22,000-gpm pump station. About 12,000 cubic yards of rockfill would be placed to stabilize 900 feet of existing island shoreline and to build rock groins. A boat ramp and a mechanical aeration system would also be installed. This procurement is issued unrestricted under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (P.L. 100-656). SIC Code - 1629, Size Standard for this SIC Code is $17 million. Estimated magnitude of construction in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
