Work includes strengthening existing steel bracing members, columns and concrete piers in bldg. 4802. Repair bracing members including adding new sections to existing members to enhance their buckling strength or replacing the existing members with new. Provide new steel kneebrace members to all interior columns. Installadditional anchor bolts to base plates, new dowels will be drilled and grouted to existing column piers, and seismic bracing and supports for piping, ducts andequipment. Remove asbestos containing pipe insulation that interferes with seismic supports. Provide new finishes where existing finishes, including lead paint removal, are damaged by seismic repairs. Relocate conduits and switch boxes that interfere with retrofitted structural members. Bid packages containing specifications and drawings are available at the nonrefundable cost of $50.00.
