POC Project Manager, Scott Weikert (215) 931-5447 and Purchasing Specialist, M.L. Glenn (215) 931-5486. This solicitation will be a fixed price design/build. The contractor will provide the required engineering design and construction services in conformance with federal, state and local codes. The proposed scope of this project consists of the design and construction of a new 70,000 square foot mail processing and distribution center containing administrative offices, general workroom space, mail platform, and support areas. The facility will be constructed on approximately 8.91 acres consisting of lots 12, 13, and 14 located in the Johnstown Business Park on Jari Drive. Site improvements consist of employee parking, truck maneuvering area at the mail platform, trailer and truck parking, storm water controls, and other miscellaneous improvements. This will be a one story, steel frame structure. Exterior facade and ladscaping must conform to the functional design specifications and the Johnstown/Richland Business Park Restrictive Covenants. Systems will include: interior heating and cooling units, underslab plumbing, fire protection systems, electrical feeder, transformer, lighting and power distribution, and compressed air. Submission of 20% design is required at time of offer. Technical evaluation of the design and the design/build team will be conducted in accordance with the design and evaluation criteria listed in the specification. Technically qualified offerors will then be evaluated on price and price related factors as listed in the specifications. A pre-proposal conference will be conducted on May 18, 1995 at 1:00 PM at Anthony's Family Restaurant, 725 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15904. The construction cost for the project is valued between $2,500,000 and $3,500,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about April 24, 1995 at $100.00 per set, non-refundable, from the firm of DRS Hundley Kling Gmitter Architects, One Gateway Center, 17th Floor, Pittsburgh PA 15222-1416, Telephone: (412) 391-4850.
