NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center intends to issue RFQ5-32326/980 on a sole source basis to Spectra Diodes Labs (SDL), 80 Rose Orchard Way, San Jose, CA 95134, for the acquisition of High Power Quasi-Continuous Wave Diode Laser Arrays. SDL is the only company capable of producing the required 100 w quasi-cw diode bars. We have found that SDL is the only company that have been thoroughly tested and qualified at Goddard Space Flight Center for suitability for flight by both the GLAS and MOLA II Projects. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of their capability, including detailed technical information and other technical literature, demonstrating their ability to meet the above requirements within 15 days of the publication of this notice to the above address. The response shall be sufficient to permit agency analysis to establish bona fide capability to meet these requirements. This procurement conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. This procurement is reserved for small businesses. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3674, with a small business size classification of 500 employees.
