sought is being issued by the Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare
Center to determine Industries current capability for a device that
provides energy in the 3 to 5 micron midwave infrared band that will be
used to enhance the infrared signature of a remotely piloted aircraft.
The device must be relatively small and light and must mount on the
belly of a large, remotely piloted aircraft. The device may be powered
by chemical or electrical means, but if it is electrical, it should
supply its own power using a battery pack. The source must operate for
a total of 12 minutes in separate events each 3 minutes in length.
Sources are encouraged to submit information for evaluation that
clearly demonstrates their capability. This is not a request for
proposal nor does the Government intend to pay for the requested
