Description
This is for market research purposes and not for solicitation. In accordance with RFO 15.101 (c) Request for Information, responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This notice is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ). Information provided in this notice is subject to change prior to release of a solicitation. If based upon the market research information the Government deems a solicitation is necessary a solicitation action will be posted in Contract opportunities on www.SAM.gov. This Sources Sought Notice is for linen carts and hampers for the Durham VA Medical Center located at 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705-3875. The Contractor will need to be able to provide a quantity of ten (1) Step-on Linen Hampers and two (2) Aluminum Linen Carts. The salient characteristics are listed below. Salient Characteristics Step-On Linen Hamper (Premium Style) -Quantity 10 a. Capacity & Size Designed to hold approximately 30-gallon liners Typical dimensions: around 22 L × 20 W × 37 H b. Material & Durability Constructed from high-impact, chemical-resistant plastic or similar durable material Includes corrosion-resistant metal components for longevity c. Hands-Free Operation Foot-pedal mechanism for lid opening to reduce hand contact Lid equipped with slow-close or damper system to minimize noise and contain odors d. Mobility & Stability Four casters (two swivel, two fixed), with locking capability for secure placement e. Safety & Compliance Meets standards for infection control and fire safety (e.g., OSHA bloodborne pathogen guidelines, fire performance compliance) f. Accessories Compatible with washable, leak-resistant linen bags with zippered access Aluminum Linen Cart (Large Capacity) Quantity 2 Dimensions & Capacity Approx. 24 deep × 60 wide × 66 high Suitable for transporting large volumes of linen (e.g., 24 30 beds) Construction & Durability Made from lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum Includes multiple adjustable shelves for flexible storage Mobility & Protection Equipped with heavy-duty casters (typically 6 diameter, ball-bearing) Full-perimeter bumpers to protect walls and furniture during transport Standard Features Recessed handles for easy maneuvering Multiple shelves plus base for organized linen storage Optional Features Covers (vinyl or transparent) for dust protection Additional options like locking casters, towing hitch, interior dividers, and tote boxes Load Capacity Engineered to support loads exceeding 1,000 lbs. All responses to this notice will be reviewed, regardless of small business/socioeconomic category, including those firms that are identified as large business. Small business requirements for market research purposes must be registered as a small business in the Small Business Administration (SBA) Small Business Search (SBS) at https://search.certifications.sba.gov/. Review of responses to this notice will support later determination of set-aside requirements, if a solicitation becomes available, where the rule of two is met regarding a set-aside, including set-asides under 38 U.S.C. 8127 and 8128 for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) and/or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs) firms registered in the SBA Dynamic Small Business Search (SBA, DSBS) database; https://dsbs.sba.gov, in accordance with priorities set by regulation. NAICS code for this requirement is 81233, Linen Supply. The Product Service Code is 7240.
