Description
This solicitation is for 2 each, 3,000 gal Single-axle semi trailer for live fish transportation of juvenile and adult fish species in the Sacramento River watershed and surrounding areas as part of ongoing conservation and monitoring programs. The trailer is required to ensure reliability, fish health during transport, and compliance with environmental standards, as existing equipment may be outdated or insufficient for current demands. The fabrication will incorporate specialized features for aeration, oxygenation, and temperature control to minimize stress on live fish. See specifications in solicitation document. Vendor is required to submit: 1. Demonstration that the vendor has previously produce a live fish trailer in the approx 3,000 gal size that will safely transport live fish as small as 500 fish to the pound of federally listed fry as well as full adult broodstock weighing up to 50+ pounds each. During long-haul distributions across the Sacramento River watershed and Central Valley tributaries, fish may remain in the transport tank for 5 or more hours. The system is required to maintain water temperature within 3 degrees F of the target value despite ambient conditions ranging from 30 degrees F to 115 degrees F, while ensuring optimal water quality to minimize physiological stress and prevent mortality. Any performance shortfall could lead to significant fish loss, program delays, and non-compliance, eliminates the risks of untested alternatives, making it the only reasonably available source capable of meeting these stringent fish-health and operational demands without extensive redesign, testing, or jeopardy to listed species. 2. Submit specifications of offered trailer Submit question and quotes with support information to Robert_Sung@fws.gov with ""140F0S26Q0019 Fish Trailer"" in the subject line.
