Description
1. Description of Requirement This is a Sources Sought notice for market research purposes only. The 5th Contracting Squadron at Minot AFB, ND is seeking to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing a high-fidelity, 1:8 scale static display model (heritage quality) of a B-52H Stratofortress bomber. The model is intended for permanent outdoor display to honor the heritage of the aircraft and the service members who operate and maintain it. The requirement is for the complete fabrication and delivery of the model, which must feature an accurate and detailed exterior finish. No internal components, mechanics, or cockpit details are required. The vendor must provide a product capable of withstanding the demanding environmental conditions of North Dakota. Final assembly and installation will be handled by Government personnel. For more detailed information, please see the attached Draft Statement of Work (SOW) and PowerPoint presentation which includes reference imagery and specific dimensions. 2. Request for Industry Comments on Draft SOW The Government is contemplating a future solicitation based on the attached Draft SOW. Recognizing that the current draft may be improved, the Government invites all potential respondents to provide comments, identify ambiguities, and offer recommendations to enhance the clarity and completeness of the requirements. Areas of particular interest for feedback include, but are not limited to: Industry best practices for materials and fabrication of large-scale outdoor models. Specific recommendations for design standards, materials, and coatings necessary to withstand high wind loads, extreme temperature cycles (-40F to +100F), heavy snow/ice accumulation, and long-term UV exposure common to Minot, ND. Specific details regarding aircraft markings, paint schemes, and finishing required for an authentic heritage display. Common engineering and design considerations for mounting solutions. Disclaimer and Terms of Submission: This request for information is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought or to otherwise pay for the information solicited.
