- Description
- Response for questions numbered 33 and 35. 33 At the walk through there was mention of doing the abatement in hallways half and half. meaning that there will always be a walkway during the abatement process. This will not only increase the cost but also increase the time it takes to abate each phase. Also, during demolition of the ceilings and wall-mounted items/accessories how will things be adjusted to accommodate for traffic flow? It may be in the best interest to lock down the phases for the duration of demolition/abatement so it can be done quicker with no disturbances 35 Regarding abatement, It was stated that the hall can abated ½ at a time to allow traffic. If the work is done after hours can the entire hall be abated at once and an alternate traffic be found to accomplish this. On specification 01 00 00 page 26 and on the drawing, is the phasing and hours for this project. Within each phase the abatement and construction will need to be broken down into sections to have the least amount of impact to the hospital, as stated in the SOW. The section of work would need to be completed during the weekend and after hours and returned to a state that is safe to walk through by employees and patients by the start of normal business hours. The goal of this work is to complete construction while not stopping any of the hospital operations or patient appointments. The contractor and abatement contractor are to determine and present the best method to complete this work properly and safely, with the mentioned goals in mind. None of the phases can be completely locked down for the duration of demolition/abatement.
