Description
Request for Information (RFI) � Relocatable Vehicle Shelter 1. Introduction This Request for Information (RFI) is issued to obtain information from qualified vendors regarding the design, construction, and installation of a vehicle shelter system. 2. Background The Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) requires a shelter solution for the storage and maintenance of special purpose vehicles in cold weather conditions. The shelter should provide adequate space, environmental control, and power capabilities for the safe and efficient storage and operation of vehicles. 3. Description The shelter solution should address the following requirements: 3.1. Mandatory Requirements (Thresholds) Vehicle Capacity: The shelter shall be capable of housing five (5) vehicles approximately the size of 53-foot tractor and trailers. The shelter design shall include a minimum of 10ft of clearance surrounding each vehicle and between vehicles. Snow Load: The shelter shall be engineered and constructed to withstand a ground snow load of 57 psf, in accordance with UFC 3-301-01 11Apr23 (Change 1 � 2Oct23) and ASCE 7-22. Wind Load: The shelter shall be engineered and constructed to withstand a wind speed of 110 mph with a 3-second gust, categorized as Risk Category II. Relocatable: The shelter shall meet the relocatable facility criteria as specified in DoD Instruction 4165.56. Power Outlets: The shelter shall be equipped with ten (10) standard US NEMA 125VAC 5-15P power outlets. 3.2. Optional Requirements (Objectives) Additional Vehicle Capacity: The shelter should ideally accommodate one (1) additional 53-foot tractor and trailer. Heating System: The shelter should include a heating system capable of maintaining an internal temperature no lower than 32�F year-round, even when ambient temperatures reach -30�F or lower. Exhaust Ventilation: The shelter should include an exhaust ventilation system with sufficient capacity to safely operate the housed vehicles while indoors. Internal Lighting: The shelter should include an internal lighting system to provide adequate illumination for maintenance and operation. 4. Information Requested Responses should include the following information: Company Information: Company name, address, contact information, and relevant experience in designing and constructing similar shelter systems. Solution/Shelter Description: A detailed description of the proposed shelter solution, including: Design specifications, drawings, and renderings Materials and construction methods Environmental control systems Electrical systems and power distribution Compliance with mandatory and optional requirements Estimated lead time for design, fabrication, and installation Pricing Information (Optional): A Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) may be included. Warranty Information: Details on warranty coverage for the shelter structure, materials, and installed systems. 5. Submission Instructions Please ensure data is in a readable electronic format that can be received through a firewall. Attachments shall not exceed 10 MB per email. Multiple emails are acceptable. No limitations on pages required for submission. Requirements met should be in a matrix format. Please submit your RFI responses electronically to ryan.brenner.3@us.af.mil by 04/16/2025. 6.
