Description
POJ Request for Information The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District (POJ), is requesting information from industry on various topics related to project execution.� This announcement is intended for informational planning purposes only. �The purpose of this special notice is to receive feedback from industry.� The Government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this notice.� This survey does not constitute a commitment by the Government for any follow-on announcements This notice is intended for local sources only. �Local sources are those sources physically located and licensed to conduct business in Japan. �Firms with knowledge and expertise are highly encouraged to submit a response.� We are committed to partnering with industry as much as we can.� Market research and industry feedback is an essential part of the acquisition process.� The information requested in this announcement will be used within USACE-JED to facilitate decision-making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. �However, respondents submitting business information pursuant to this RFI announcement should consult 41 C.F.R. parts 105-60 and other implementing regulations concerning the release of such information to third parties under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). �All information submitted by respondents that they consider confidential and not releasable to third parties outside of USACE, and its employees, agents, consultants, and representatives, must be clearly and conspicuously marked. REQUESTED INFORMATION: Please provide response to the following no later than 16 May 2022, Japan Standard Time. 1. Name of your company, address, email address, SAM Unique Identifier Number, CAGE Code, and English Speaking Point of Contact (POC) name. 2. How has COVID-19 affected your work on U.S. Government installations in Japan? 3. Has construction material supply in Japan been affected by the global supply chain issues? a. If so, how much has this increased your costs (%)? b. Which types of materials are impacted the most? 4. Has rising fuel prices affected your work? 5. Do you anticipate material and fuel prices to increase, decrease, or remain at their current levels in the next 3-6 months? 6.� POJ has been implementing Japanese Standards (JIS) in our specifications (Japan Edited Specifications) over the past 5 years. a. Has this been beneficial? b. Does your company have recommendations you would like POJ to consider regarding JIS? 7. Are there specific project locations (i.e. Yokota, Misawa, Yokosuka, Kadena, Iwakuni, Shariki, etc.) your company encounters problems with in regards to labor, material, equipment, security, or other issues, that result in price changes? 8. How much of a cost impact does the bid/proposal expiration period affect your price (%) for the following? a. 90 days or shorter? b. 120 days? c. 150 days or longer? 9. How much of a cost impact does the option expiration period affect your price (%) for the following? a. 90 days or shorter? b. 120 days? c. 150 days or longer? 10. Does your company currently use Building Information Modeling (BIM) in any of your projects? a. If YES, what software platform do you use and what types of projects do you use it for? b. If �NO� is your company familiar with BIM? c. If POJ included BIM model in future construction projects, how would you use the model in your construction process? d. If the POJ included BIM into future construction projects, would this increase or decrease your interest? 11. Does your company have any recommendations you would like POJ to consider that would help project execution? 12. Any other comments, suggestions, concerns?
