Description

This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b) � Soliciting from a Single Source. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC, 1 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10601 for Axio Scan Z.1 System. The Axio Scan Z.1 System is an imaging system with unique qualifications including but not limited to High End Brightfield imaging with 3CCD Hitachi Color Camera, High End Fluorescence imaging with Axio Cam 506 Monochrome Camera, Colibri 7 LED light source with continuous brightness adjustment, Excitation Wavelengths: 385nm, 430nm, 511nm, 555nm, 590nm, 630nm, 735nm, 10 Position Reflector Turret, High Efficiency Filter Set 90 for DAPI, FITC, TRITC, and Cy5 or similar dyes, High Performance Objectives: 5x, 20x /.8 NA, and 100 Slide Magazine, Continuous Loading Capability instrument that measures RNA, DNA, and protein along with bacterial log phase using only 1-2ul of sample by UV or visible light. Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC is the sole source for the Axio Scan Z.1 System. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and a size standard of 1000 employees. NIEHS will solicit and negotiate directly with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC and no solicitation will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, if an interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can perform the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via email to mcewenem@niehs.nih.gov within ten (10) days after the date of publication of this notice. No faxed documents will be accepted. If no responsive statements are received within ten (10) days, an award will be made to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC.
