- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on behalf of the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) intends to enter into a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract with KanREN under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. The Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) has a requirement for a Subscription for Internet services with KanREN to provide Internet service to the student network. This subscription is consistent with BIA/BIE MOU to improve quality of Internet services to the students at Haskell. KanREN is the approved provider for this services, and will connect the university to a provider that specializes in Internet conncectivity for colleges and universities in the state of Kansas. KanKEN can and will provide efficient internet access to students in residential halls and other on-campus locations. The product will provide the BIE employees � faculty and staff � expanded bandwidth conduct their business much more efficiently and effectively. KanREN is a member-based consortium in Kansas that provides high-speed Internet and network technologies to research, education, and public service institutions. BIE staff would remain connected to the existing ENAN network. In accordance with the Class Determination and Findings (D&F) under 41 U.S.C. �3304(c)(l); Public Law 114-95; and 48 C.F.R. �1.703, these services must be issued on a sole source basis. The period of performance will be for a year, delivery date August 31, 2021. No solicitation is available and no technical questions will be answered for this requirement. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541519. If a firm believes that BIA should not pursue this procurement, it should submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement by ___5pm______ ET on ____July 14, 2020____.
