- Description
- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to Foster-Miller Inc. dba QinetiQ North America, 350 Second Ave Waltham, MA 02451, for the KC-130J Armor Kits procurement.� This effort consists of the procurement and delivery of 18 KC-130J Armor A-Kits and 18 KC-130J Armor B-Kits. This procurement is in support of the KC-130J aircraft utilized by the United States Marine Corps (USMC). A sole source acquisition will be procured under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, �Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.� Foster-Miller Inc. dba QinetiQ North America is the sole approved system designer for the KC-130J Armor A-Kits and KC-130J Armor B-Kits. Additionally, Foster-Miller Inc. dba QinetiQ North America is the only known firm with the necessary technical data, knowledge, equipment, facilities, and experience with the subject aircraft to provide the required supplies within the required timeframe. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement. The Government will consider all capability information received prior to the closing date of this synopsis. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
