FAR Subpart 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items - Sole Source Justification and Approval � Contracting Activity: United States Medical Research Acquisition Activity, 820 Chandler St. Fort Detrick, MD 21702-5014 Description of Action: The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) located at Fort Detrick, MD, requests a firm-fixed-price contract with Honeywell Safety Products. The Government projects award for April 2020 and fiscal year 2020, Army funds will be used: X An acquisition plan is not required because this procurement does not meet the threshold at Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 207.103(d)(i)(B). D Approved an acquisition plan in accordance with DFARS 207.103(d)(i)(B) on D The required acquisition plan in accordance with DFARS 207.103(d)(i)(B) is currently awaiting (insert approval authority title) approval. Description of Supplies/Services: Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the research laboratories of USAMRIID.����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� The required PPE is a positive pressure supplied air suit with optical grade clear plastic insert in the visor, which contains size appropriate rings for the proper fitting of the user, a shortened pipe that is rigid on the air distribution system. The PPE must be clamped and over pressure tested, with no sharp edges and must be specifically measured to the requested measurements.
