Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Indianapolis VA Health Care System, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Aurora Scientific for the 300D 2 channel dual-mode lever system to support muscle function study in the specific aims of the renewal merit award. This system is the only system that offers Complete characterization of muscle function is achieved using our 300C series Dual-Mode muscle levers, a force transducer and fast length motor in one. Isotonic, eccentric and force-velocity protocols are easily accomplished and supplement basic isometric twitch and tetanus measurements. 2-channel system allows simultaneous characterization of muscle mechanics controlled with a single computer. All of the above items are proprietary in design and provide unique functions not available from other sources. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Friday, September 20th, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
