- PRODUCT DESCRIPTION SOLICITATION Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Code 612, Fire Protection Group (FPG), requests procurement of a new SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) Part 5 Surface flammability (IMO A.653) test apparatus called Lateral Spread of Flame Tester (LIFT). This test is used for surface flammability of bulkhead/deck materials and primary deck coverings in accordance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2010 Fire Test Procedures (FTP) Code.
