- Description
- The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, Great Lakes Science Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan has a requirement for haulout, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the Research Vessel ARCTICUS. The ARCTICUS, constructed in 2014, is a 77' overall length, steel hull research vessel. Her home port is Cheboygan, Michigan. A sampling of the services include dry dock; pressure wash the hull; repair hull valves; renew propulsion shafts; refurbish propellers; clean tanks; soft mount engines; soft mount exhaust; modify engine room stanchion; replace hydraulic system mounts; install hydraulic silencers; modify ventilation fan controls; replace floor treatments; replace ceiling tiles; repair engine room water leak; reroute black water tank vent; repair sea chest valve; reinforce anchor roller; install bulwark chocks; modify toe rails; install new transducer; and install general alarm switch. Upon completion of inspection, maintenance, and repair services, the contractor will launch the vessel. Proposals are being requested under Request for Proposals (RFP) 140G0119R0036, which will be issued at Fedbizopps.gov and FedConnect.net on or about 09/19/2019. There will be a site visit of the ARCTICUS in Cheboygan, MI on 10/03/2019. Additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the RFP. The offeror is responsible for monitoring the Fedbizopps.gov or FedConnect.net site for the release of the RFP and amendments (if any). A statement of work, specifications, and drawings are not available for release at this time. Proposals will be due on or about 10/22/1019 (exact date/time to be provided in the RFP). The anticipated award will be firm fixed price, issued on or about 11/08/2019. It is intended that the haul-out and associated services be performed during the period December, 2019 through April, 2019. The NAICS code is 336611 with a small business size standard of 1250 employees. This RFP will be set aside for small business.
