- Description
- Purpose: The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) is seeking sources for small businesses qualified to mill and pave asphalt at some SLSDC locations, and to replace the sub-base and asphalt at some SLSDC locations. Project Scope: Locations to replace the sub-base and asphalt are at the north working wall of Eisenhower Lock, the Visitors' Center parking lot and the driveway for the Visitors' Center at Eisenhower Lock. The work includes removal of the existing asphalt and sub-base for a combined area of approximately 65,500 s.f. in these locations. The work will also include removal and disposal of existing asphalt and sub-base materials, installation of geo-fabric, installation of 12" of 2" minus (Type 2) compacted to 95%, and installation of 2 ½" of 25 mm NYSDOT Binder and 1 ½" of Type 12mm NYSDOT top coat. Locations to mill and overlay asphalt are between the Security Building and the Visitors' Center at Eisenhower Lock and the Eisenhower Lock upper approach wall. These work areas are comprised of approximately 67,500 s.f. of asphalt to be milled and hauled off-site. The work in these areas will require the existing asphalt to be milled a minimum of 1.5" in depth, installation of NYSDOT approved tack coat and installation of 12mm top course to required grades and elevations. It is estimated that the project will be required to be completed between August 12, 2019 and September 13, 2019. The proper NAICS code for this project is 238990 - All Other Specialty Trade Contractors and the size standard is $15,000,000.00. Submission: All interested vendors who may wish to participate must submit the required information via e-mail to: jason.brockway@dot.gov no later than July 16th, 2019, 3:30 pm(est). Responses should be in the form of an attached pdf file or word document no longer than ten (10) pages with type face no smaller than twelve (12) point. This project will require registration in the federal government's system for award management at www.sam.gov. The response must include the name of the firm which the respondent represents and appropriate contact information. The e-mail subject must contain Paving RFI in the subject line. The SLSDC would like information and comments on the following: 1. Please email a capability statement and other relevant information. 2. Provide your company name and point of contact. 3. A list of five projects similar in scope and size, or greater, completed in the last ten years. The relevant projects shall include use of materials described. Brief descriptions of the relevant projects shall be provided along with contact information for references for each project. Questions regarding this announcement shall be submitted in writing by e-mail to jason.brockway@dot.gov. Verbal questions will not be accepted and the SLSDC will respond to questions at its discretion. Any and all communications will be sent via email and shall not contain proprietary information. All questions shall be submitted prior to July 5th, 2019, 2:00 pm(est). Vendors who respond to this RFI should not anticipate feedback with regards to their submission other than acknowledgement of receipt. The SLSDC reserves the right to review late submissions but makes no guarantee that they will be reviewed.
