- Special Notice Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17 in San Antonio, Texas, intends to award a firm-fixed price contract award for the following: BD Bactec Analyzer MGIT 960, on behalf of the South Texas VA Healthcare System in San Antonio, Texas. Delivery Location: Department of Veterans Affairs South Texas VA Healthcare System Pathology & Laboratory Services 7400 Merton Minter San Antonio, TX 78229 REQUEST FOR SUPPLIES: MANUFACTURER: Becton, Dickinson and Company DESCRIPTION: BD Bactec Analyzer MGIT 960 QTY: 1 This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No contract will be awarded based on offers received in response to this notice; however, all responsible sources must submit a letter from Becton, Dickinson and Company giving them authorization as being a dealer/distributor, capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the Agency. Proposals or offers received will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received by July 18, 2019 at 3PM Eastern/2PM Central Time from the publication of this notice, a contract award will be issued to Becton, Dickinson and Company, without further notice. The anticipated statutory authority permitting limiting the source for the requirement is FAR 6.302-1 - Only one source can provide the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. Notice: the point of contact (POC) for this notice does not have a Federal Business Opportunities registration account. The POC does not have any visibility to the Interested Vendors List tab within the notice. Interested firms must respond directly to the POC email address listed in the notice for consideration.
