Description

U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, Intends to award a sole source procurement to the vendor - Thermo Fisher Scientific, who is the equipment manufacturer and sole service provider for all of the instrument parts, training, technical support, field service support, and software. The legal entity for the Q Exactive instruments is Thermo Electron North America LLC, which is a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The instrument listed below and any attached peripherals use a technologically advanced method to analyze chemicals and to identify unknown samples. Thermo Fisher Scientific has proprietary rights to the design and software utilized in this instrument. Thermo Fisher Scientific field service engineers are the only certified and factory trained engineers available with access to performance verified component parts, spare parts, software, technical support, and upgrades to maintain the original operating specifications to service the instrument.
