Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCO 21- is requesting procurement information for Brand Name or Equal for a firm fixed-price contract for 1 year of specialty bed rentals for VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) located in Honolulu, HI. BRAND NAME OR EQUAL- Specialty Bed Rentals ***Must be compatible with the current Hill-rom nurse call/alarm system*** Please review the Statement of Work and information below for the types of specialty beds. Statement of Work Specialty Bed Rentals VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) General The contractor shall provide specialty beds and supplies to the VAPIHCS for the contract period. The specialty bed rentals shall be ordered on an AS NEEDED basis. The contractor shall provide the specialty beds within 24 hours after notification from the VAPIHCS. The VAPIHCS shall contact the contractor when the specialty bed is no longer required. The contractor shall provide the VAPIHCS with a confirmation number acknowledging the specialty bed pick-up and shall remove the bed from the designated location within 24 hours after notification from the VAPIHCS. Delivery Location: VAPIHCS Center for Aging (CFA), Bldg. 110 110 Krukowski Road Honolulu, HI 96819 Upon delivery to the address listed above the contractor shall then transport the specialty bed to the designated location requested by the VAPIHCS. The VAPIHCS shall provide the patient s name and location where the specialty bed is to be delivered and / or picked up. Performance and Maintenance The contractor shall be responsible for the performance and maintenance of the specialty beds rented to the VAPIHCS. The VAPIHCS shall check the serviceability of each specialty bed upon delivery. If a specialty bed is deemed unserviceable, the contractor shall repair and / or replace the unserviceable specialty bed(s) within 24 hours of notification from the VAPIHCS. Period of Performance Billing for the leased specialty beds shall begin on the date the specialty bed is delivered and will end on the date the contractor is notified by the VAPIHCS that the specialty bed is no longer required. The contractor shall provide the specialty bed model number/description and the patient s name and room number when invoicing. Information Security Patient s personal information and personal health information shall not be shared between the VAPIHCS and the contractor. Specialty Hospital Beds: Bariatric Bed such as Compella Bariatric Bed: 1. The bed is mobile with assist from a powered mechanism to facilitate movement such as IntelliDrive XL 2. Wheels are lockable 3. Accommodate 1000 lbs 4. Powered expansion of bed width from standard to 50 inches 5. Powered expansion of bed length of bed to 88 inches such as FlexAfoot 6. Digital head of bed angle indicators and alert 7. Integrated caregiver and patient controls, including nurse call system 8. In bed scale 9. Battery back up 10. Optional Trapeze (optional) as needed 11. 3 mode bed exit 12. Low air loss surface 13. Low position from sleep deck to floor is 18.5 inches 14. High position from sleep deck to floor is 26.8 inches 15. Able to connect to the Hill Rom call system 16. Includes Continuous Lateral Rotation Therapy to prevent ventilator associated complications 17. Sturdy side bed rails 18. Meet healthcare facility regulations for electrical equipment Bariatric Bed Plus such as TotalCare Bariatric Plus Bed: 1. The bed is mobile with assist from a powered mechanism to facilitate movement such as IntelliDrive XL 2. Wheels are lockable 3. Accommodate 500 lbs 4. Position: low 19 inches, high 38 inches 5. Mattress width: 40 inches 6. Powered expansion of bed length of bed to 84 inches such as FlexAfoot 7. Digital head of bed angle indicators and alert 8. Integrated caregiver and patient controls, including nurse call system 9. In bed scale 10. Battery back up 11. Trapeze (optional) 12. Bed exit with alarm 13. Low air loss surface for weight based pressure redistribution 14. Powered ability to expand length to 86 inches such a FlexAfoot positioning system. 5. Patient repositioning system such as Boost to facilitate repositioning 6. Turn assist 7. Advanced Microclimate management technology. 8. Wheels are lockable 9. Digital head of bed angle indicators and alert 10. Integrated caregiver and patient controls, including nurse call system 11. This is a Sources Sought Notice and submissions will be used for informational and planning purposes only. GREY MARKET ITEMS: The Vendor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system such that the OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. The vendor shall provide new items ONLY; no remanufactured or grey market items. All items must be covered by the manufacturer s warranty. The offeror shall provide evidence of its authority to distribute the proposed equipment/system at the time of submission of its quote/offer. Please note that such evidence is subject to verification by the Contracting Officer at his/her discretion.
