REQUESTED RESPONSES: The intent of this Request for Information is to establish sources in order to define the procurement strategy. Respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SCOPE OF WORK Background: The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) must process and sterilize all critical reusable medical equipment for the entire facility and CBOC s including surgical and dental instrumentation. To keep up with the demand for efficient processing of instrumentation the MEDVAMC is renovating and expanding the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) Preparation and Sterilization Area. Due to the heavy workload that is now generated in SPS from the increasing of surgical procedures the two extra sterilizers are needed. Once the sterilizer is in place it will increase the volume of instrument processing and speed up the process for sterilizing instruments for scheduled procedures and emergency procedures.
